University of Sheffield
George Tsialiamanis is a Lecturer in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Civil Engineering at the University of Sheffield. He is a member of the Dynamics Research Group (DRG) and serves on the steering board of the Welsh Digital Twin Network (WDTN), an initiative translating digital twin technologies into real-world applications for the benefit of communities across Wales.
His research focuses on machine learning, generative modelling, graph-based learning, and combinations of physics-based modelling with machine learning with applications in dynamics, modelling of engineering systems, and monitoring of populations of physical systems. He is a recipient of the Best Paper in Data Science for Engineering Award at the International Modal Analysis Conference (IMAC) 2021, sponsored by Los Alamos Dynamics, LLC.
George received his Diploma in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece, in 2017, and his Ph.D. in data-driven methods for mechanical engineering from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, in 2022, supported by the Dynamic Virtualisation (DyVirt) Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Innovative Training Network. He has served as a visiting researcher at institutes such as the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the US and ETH Zurich in Switzerland.
