Short Bio

Dimitris is a Data Scientist with a BSc in Mathematics from University of Athens (UoA) with a specialization in Statistics and Operational Research and a MSc in Data Science from Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). During his studies he showed interest in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer Vision. His thesis was titled: Chain-of-Thought Prompting for Intent Classification using Large Language Models.

Research Interests

Dimitris currently pursues a PhD in AUEB under the supervision of Associate Professor Themos Stafylakis. His research interests include audiovisual deepfakes and audiovisual deepfake detection, biometric verification with a focus on face recognition and speaker recognition.

PhD research on "Synthetic Speech Source Detection using Metric Learning"
Abstract: This study investigates synthetic speech source tracing by adapting speaker recognition methodologies. Experimental results demonstrate that a ResNet-based, metric-learning pipeline achieves performance competitive with, and at times superior to, self-supervised learning systems. These findings underscore the efficacy of ResNet architectures for audio forensic analysis of manipulated media.
