Τhe Ambassador of Australia to Greece visits Archimedes!

On Wednesday, 11 February 2026, the Ambassador of Australia to Greece, Mrs. Alison Duncan, visited the Archimedes Research Unit at the Athena Research Center in Greece and had a very productive meeting with Professor Timos Sellis, Director of the Archimedes Research Unit.

Professor Sellis presented the unit’s scientific achievements, vision, and ongoing research projects, and discussed the latest developments in artificial intelligence and data science. Timos Sellis maintains strong ties with Australia, having spent significant time in Melbourne, where he led research laboratories and taught at Swinburne University of Technology and RMIT University. 

Professor Sellis and Ambassador Duncan also discussed Australia’s National AI Plan and examined possibilities for cooperation between Greece and Australia.
