Το Θερινό Σχολείο Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης για Μαθητές Δευτεροβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης οργανώνεται στα πλαίσια του 1ου Πανελλήνιου Διαγωνισμού Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης (ΠΔΤΝ, https://pdtn.gr ) και θα διεξαχθεί από τη Δευτέρα 16 μέχρι και την Παρασκευή 20 Ιουνίου, ώρες 10:00 - 16:00, στην Σχολή Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών και Μηχανικών Υπολογιστών, στο Εθνικό Μετσόβιο Πολυτεχνείο.

Οι διαλέξεις για το Θερινό Σχολείο θα γίνουν από τον κ. Κωνσταντίνο Καραμανή, Καθηγητή στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Τέξας στο Ώστιν (UT Austin) και Ερευνητή στην Ερευνητική Μονάδα στην Τεχνητή Νοημοσύνη ΑΡΧΙΜΗΔΗΣτου Ερευνητικού Κέντρου ΑΘΗΝΑ. Αντικείμενο των διαλέξεων είναι η εισαγωγή των μαθητών στις βασικές και θεμελιώδεις ιδέες της Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης και της Μηχανικής Μάθησης, αρχίζοντας με την επιτηρούμενη μάθηση (supervised learning) και καταλήγοντας στα βαθιά νευρωνικά δίκτυα (deep neural networks), την τεχνική του transfer learning και την δομή και λειτουργία των λεγόμενων foundation models (π.χ., ChatGPT, Dall-E, Llama).

Οι διαλέξεις θα έχουν ως αφετηρία το εκπαιδευτικό υλικό που αναπτύχθηκε από τον κ. Καραμανή για την προετοιμασία των συμμετεχόντων στον 1ο Πανελλήνιο Διαγωνισμό Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης. Οι διαλέξεις θα απευθύνονται σε μαθητές της Γ΄ Γυμνασίου και των Α', Β΄ και Γ' Λυκείου (κατά το ακαδ. έτος 2024-2025) που έχουν κάποια βασική γνώση προγραμματισμού (ιδανικά σε Python) και ενδιαφέρονται να μάθουν τις βασικές αρχές της Μηχανικής Μάθησης. Ειδικότερα, οι 5 μέρες των διαλέξεων θα συνδυάζουν:

  1. Βασικές ιδέες και έννοιες από την μηχανική μάθηση (εκπαίδευση αλγορίθμων, επιτηρούμενη μάθηση, κλπ.)
  2. Υλοποίηση αλγορίθμων στην γλώσσα Python, με διάφορα σετ δεδομένων, με παραδείγματα σε επεξεργασία φυσικής γλώσσας και μηχανική όραση.
  3. Βαθιά Νευρωνικά Δίκτυα.
  4. Τι είναι και πως λειτουργούν τα λεγόμενα foundation models (π.χ., ChatGPT, Dall-E, Llama).
  5. Χρήση αυτών των μοντέλων μέσω της Python και Huggingface.
  6. Ανάλογα με τα ενδιαφέροντα και το υπόβαθρο των μαθητών/τριών, πιο προχωρημένο μαθηματικό και αλγοριθμικό υλικό σχετικό με μηχανική μάθηση.
  7. Ύλη σχετική με τα θέματα της (καινούργιας) Διεθνούς Ολυμπιάδας Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης.
Για τη συμμετοχή τους στις διαλέξεις του Θερινού Σχολείου, οι μαθητές/τριες θα χρειαστούν λογαριασμό email στο gmail.com, ώστε να έχουν πρόσβαση στην πλατφόρμα Colab της Google κατά τη διάρκεια των διαλέξεων.

Η συμμετοχή στο Θερινό Σχολείο Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης είναι δωρεάν. Λόγω αντικειμενικών περιορισμών, το πολύ 40 μαθητές/τριες μπορούν να γίνουν δεκτοί/ές. Παρακαλούμε τους ενδιαφερόμενους/ες μαθητές/τριες να εκδηλώσουν ενδιαφέρον για τη συμμετοχή τους στο Θερινό Σχολείο Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης, μέσω της φόρμας εκδήλωσης ενδιαφέροντος

μέχρι και τα μεσάνυχτα της Κυριακής 8 Ιουνίου.

Αν υπάρχουν περισσότεροι/ες ενδιαφερόμενοι/ες, για τις 32 θέσεις, θα δοθεί προτεραιότητα σε όσους/ες συμμετείχαν στον 1ο Πανελλήνιο Διαγωνισμό Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης με βάση την επίδοσή τους στην Τελική Φάση Πανδώρα, για όσους/ες συμμετείχαν σε αυτή, και στην Προκριματική Φάση Τάλως, για τους υπόλοιπους. Για τις υπόλοιπες 8 θέσεις, θα δοθεί προτεραιότητα σε μαθητές/τριες που δεν συμμετείχαν στον 1ο Πανελλήνιο Διαγωνισμό Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης με βάση την επίδοσή τους στο πρόβλημα Αλυσίδες Λέξεων της Προκριματικής Φάσης Τάλως του Διαγωνισμού. Για τον σκοπό αυτό, οι ενδιαφερόμενοι/ες καλούνται να δημιουργήσουν λογαριασμό στην ιστοσελίδα του Πανελλήνιου Διαγωνισμού Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης με το email που δηλώνουν στη φόρμα εκδήλωσης ενδιαφέροντος και να υποβάλουν τις λύσεις τους στο πρόβλημα Αλυσίδες Λέξεων μέχρι τα μεσάνυχτα της Κυριακής 8 Ιουνίου.

Οι ενδιαφερόμενοι/ες μαθητές/τριες θα ενημερωθούν για την συμμετοχή τους στο Θερινό Σχολείο Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης, με μήνυμα ηλεκτρονικού ταχυδρομείου, την Τετάρτη 11 Ιουνίου.

Vassilis Alimisis, a Postdoc at the Archimedes Unit of the Athena Research Center in Greece, a Collaborating Researcher at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens in Greece, an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Digital Industry Technologies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece, and a National Postdoctoral Research Fellow of the Bodossaki Foundation, Athens, Greece, will deliver a tutorial at the 2025 International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM), which will take place on 14-17 December 2025, in Cairo, Egypt.

Researchers Despoina Kosmopoulou, Efthymios Georgiou, Vaggelis Dorovatas, Georgios Paraskevopoulos, and Alexandros Potamianos from Archimedes, Athena Research Center, Greece, from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, the University of Bern, Switzerland and the Institute of Language and Signal Processing (ILSP) of the Athena Research Center, Greece, received the BabyLM Challenge Award (Strict track) for NLP tasks at "The First BabyLM Workshop: Accelerating Language Modeling Research with Cognitively Plausible Datasets", which took place in Suzhou, China, during the 30th Annual Conference on Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing (EMNLP 2025).

Smirnakis, Associate Neurologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, USA and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School, USA; and Maria Papadopouli, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Crete, Greece, Affiliated Researcher at the Institute of Computer Science, FORTH, Crete, Greece and Lead Researcher at Archimedes, Athena Research Center, Greece, received two Best Paper Awards at the 25th annual IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Bioengineering (BIBE 2025), which took place on November 6-8, 2025 in Athens, Greece.
