SHORT BIO
Dr. John Pavlopoulos serves as an Assistant Professor (elected) at the Department of Informatics of Athens University of Economics and Business, with affiliations at Archimedes/Athena RC and Stockholm University. Previously, he held the position of Senior Lecturer (fixed-term) in NLP and Data Science at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences of Stockholm University, and was a visiting scholar at the Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. His research is dedicated to Machine Learning for NLP, with a keen focus on applications in Digital Humanities, Ηealthcare, and Sentiment Analysis. His work has been published by top venues (e.g., Nature, ACL, EACL, EMNLP, DHQ) and his recent studies in Digital Humanities comprise authorship analysis of the Homeric poems, attributing epigraphs and papyri (papyri images), and NLP for art history.
