
Dimitris Tsitsigkos
SHORT BIO
Dimitris Tsitsigkos is a software engineer and researcher specializing in data science and engineering. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Archimedes: AI, Data Science, and Algorithms Research Hub.
He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (2024) from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Ioannina, under the supervision of Prof. Nikos Mamoulis, Prof. Panagiotis Bouros (University of Mainz), and Researcher Manolis Terrovitis (IMSI, Athena RC). He also holds a B.Sc. in Informatics and Telecommunications (2012) and an M.Sc. in Computing Systems: Software and Hardware (2016) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. From 2012 to 2024, Dimitris worked as a Software Engineer at the Institute for the Management of Information Systems (IMIS) of the Athena Research Center, where he contributed to several Greek and European research projects.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
His research focuses on data management of complex data types (spatial, spatio-temporal, multi-dimensional, vector), parallel and distributed algorithms, real-time analytics, big data, and data anonymization.
