Dimitris Galanis holds a PhD in Natural Language Processing (Nov. 2006 – Feb. 2012, title: “Automatic Summarization”), an MSc in Computer Science and a BA in Informatics. All the above degrees were obtained at the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He started working at the Speech Processing Institute/E.K. "Athena" as a collaborating researcher and software engineer in April 2013 and since September 2019 he is an elected researcher. He has participated in various research projects (CLARIN:EL, OpenMinTeD, ELRC-SHARE, ELG etc). Dimitris has published scientific articles in distinguished conferences and journals that have been cited more than 2000 times (according to Google Scholar). His research interests focus on Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Automatic Text/Summarization, Sentiment Analysis and Language Technology Infrastructures.
