Costis Kontogiannis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and in Mining Engineering, an MPhil in History and Philosophy of Science and Technology, as well as an MEd in Adult Education.
His academic and professional expertise lies in Physics education, the integration of ICT in teaching and learning, educational leadership and administration, and human resource management.
He served as a member of the Executive Board of the Greece 2021 Committee, responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of the national program of actions and events commemorating the Bicentennial of the Greek Revolution of 1821.
Since September 2022, he has been appointed Executive Director of the ARCHIMEDES Research Unit at the Athena Research Center, where he oversees and promotes research initiatives in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, spanning both theoretical foundations and applied domains.
