Anna Chatzipapadopoulou
Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece
Short Bio
Anna Chatzipapadopoulou is a PhD student at the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), working on uncertainty-aware multimodal machine learning. She holds both a BSc in Informatics and an MSc in Computer Science from AUEB, where her bachelor’s thesis focused on medical image tagging with deep neural networks and her master’s thesis examined ensemble learning methods for uncertainty quantification in multi-label classification. Since 2023, she has been a member of the AUEB NLP Group, and in 2025 she worked as a Research Intern at Archimedes, contributing to research on computer vision, diagnostic captioning, medical image tagging, and conformal prediction-based uncertainty quantification. She has also contributed to the AUEB NLP Group’s participation in ImageCLEFmedical Caption, where the team ranked 2nd in the Concept Detection task in 2024 and 1st in the Concept Detection and Explainability tasks in 2025.
Research Interests
Anna’s research interests center on uncertainty-aware multimodal machine learning, while also spanning natural language processing, computer vision, and biomedical AI. She is particularly interested in uncertainty quantification and conformal prediction, as well as in the development of models for multimodal, vision, and language tasks across both biomedical and broader real-world applications.
