Short Bio
Alkmini Sgouritsa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics at Athens University of Economics and Business.
She previously was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Liverpool (2019 – 2023), and a visiting researcher in the Geo Algorithm Group at Google Research, CA, USA (2021 – 2023). She held a Postdoctoral Research position at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, Saarbrücken, Germany (2018-2019), where she was awarded the Lise Meitner Postdoctoral Fellowship Award. She completed her PhD (2013-2017) at the Department of Computer Science, University of Liverpool, where her PhD thesis on Algorithms in a Game Theory Environment was second runner-up for the British Computer Society (BCS) Distinguished Thesis Award (2018).
Research Interests
Her research interests lie in the fields of Algorithmic Game Theory, Mechanism Design, Learning Augmented Algorithms and Fair Division.
