Antonis Anastasopoulos' Keynote Speech on "Machine Translation and Low-Resource NLP" from the Athens NLP 2025 Summer School is Now Available
Antonis Athanassopoulos, an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Department of George Mason University,USA, and a Lead Researcher at Archimedes, Athena Research Center, Greece, was one of the keynote speakers at the Athens NLP 2025 Summer School, held at the National Centre for Scientific Research Demokritos in Greece, from 4 to 10 September 2025.
His presentation on "Machine Translation and Low-Resource NLP" is now available online.
Besides Antonis Athanassopoulos, numerous researchers from Archimedes, Athena Research Center, Greece, took part at the Athens NLP 2025 Summer School, either by presenting research findings or by being part of the organizing or scientific committees. To name just a few: Sophia Ananiadou (University of Manchester, The National Centre for Text Mining, the Artificial Intelligence Research Center (AIRC-AIST)), Ion Androutsopoulos (Athens University of Economics and Business), Dimitris Galanis (ILSP, Athena Research Center), John Pavlopoulos (Athens University of Economics and Business), and Themos Stafylakis (Athens University of Economics and Business).
AthNLP is a series of summer schools (2026, 2025, 2024, 2019) that bring together students, academics, researchers, and industry experts with an interest in Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning.
The Athens NLP 2025 Summer School was organized by: the Athena Research Center, the Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP) of the Athena Research Center, the Archimedes Research Unit on AI, Data Science, and Algorithms of the Athena Research Center, the National Centre for Scientific Research Demokritos, the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), the Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, UK, and the ELLIS Unit Manchester.
